Leonard Northeast died from wounds on 1st April, 1917, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 12th Middlesex battalion was part of 54 Brigade, 12th Division, that had been operating on the Somme during the winter of 1916-1917. |
